On September 24, 2025, Precious Kidney Health Empowerment Foundation (PKHEF),in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Health, held a Free Medical Outreach at Orita Challenge, Oluyole Local Government Area, Ibadan, to promote kidney health and prevent non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes — the major causes of kidney failure.

The outreach offered free health checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and kidney function screenings.

Participants also received medical consultations, free medications, and health education on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Over 100 residents benefited from the program, with many checking their blood pressure and sugar levels for the first time.

Speaking during the event, Damilola Osuolale, a kidney transplant recipient and Founder/Executive Director of PKHEF, said the outreach was a way of giving back and creating awareness from her own personal journey.

“As someone who has gone through kidney failure and received a transplant, I know how much early detection matters. Many people are living with high blood pressure or diabetes without knowing, and these silent conditions can damage the kidneys.

Our goal is to help people know their numbers early and take preventive action before it’s too late,” she said.

The program received support from CWAY bottled water, and Vitazobo, who kept participants refreshed with water and drinks throughout the event.

A representative of the Oyo State Ministry of Health commended the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaborations like this in improving public health outcomes.

“We’re glad to work with organizations like PKHEF that share our vision of a healthier Oyo State,” the representative noted.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative. One participant, Mrs. OSHODI, said,

“I didn’t know my blood pressure was high. I’m very grateful to PKHEF for coming to our area. They have saved lives today.”

The outreach was supported by a team of medical professionals, volunteers, and community health workers who provided screenings and health education with compassion and care.

Damilola Osuolale appreciated all supporters, adding that PRECIOUS KIDNEY HEALTH EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION (PKHEF) will continue to reach more rural communities across Ibadan.

“We’re deeply grateful to the Oyo State Ministry of Health, CWAY, and Vitazobo for their support…This is just the beginning — we plan to take free health screenings and kidney education to more underserved communities,” she said.
